Injuries: Linebacker Jerod Mayo was carted off the field with a knee injury and did not return. Early speculation is the injury may be season-ending. Very Important Person, Stevan Ridley, also suffered what appears to be a season-ending knee injury. Offensive lineman Dan Connolly left the game with a head injury and did not return.

Tight end Rob Gronkowski and safety Duron Harmon both left the game briefly, but returned. Special teamers Matt Slater and Danny Aiken were each examined by medical staff.

Penalties: 9 for 60 yards.
Total of 54 for 526 yards, most in the NFL in penalties and in total yards.

One positive statistic: The Patriots scored on their first four second-half drives, tallying 24 points in the process. The only second-half possession that did not produce points was the final drive where they knelt out the clock.

One negative statistic: The New England defense allowed Buffalo to score touchdowns on all three of its red zone possessions, as well as converting a two-point conversion.

The game in one statistic: The Patriots are 25-3 against the Bills since Bill Belichick took over as head coach in 2000, including 20-1 in their last 21 meetings.
