October 12 Quick Kicks Podcast: The NFC South Race After Week 5

The NFC South is one of the most confusing divisions in football, as the team many expected to win it this year – the Carolina Panthers – has struggled on both sides of the ball. On the October 12 Quick Kicks Podcast Chuck Zodda and Mark Schofield look at the NFC South division and the race for their playoff spot. Atlanta, with their high-flying offense, sits atop the division with a 4-1 record after beating the Denver Broncos last week. The New Orleans Saints also possess a high-powered offense, but sit at 1-3 after a bye last week. Finally the Tampa Bay Buccaneers haven’t taken the next step that many expected them to and Jameis Winston and Roberto Aguayo both have had their struggles so far this season. Other topics include:

  • What is Atlanta doing right as they find themselves at 4-1 and atop the NFC South (1:58)
  • How Atlanta uses their various running backs and tight ends in very different roles  (4:54)
  • The Tampa Bay Buccaneers struggling offense and how Roberto Aguayo has changed his mechanics (7:30)
  • Jameis Winston’s interception struggles and if we should expect them to keep coming (12:45)
  • How disappointing the Carolina Panthers season has been and where it’s all going wrong (19:00)
  • Is the wide receiver corps of the Saints as loaded as it seems to be (24:29)
