September 9 Breaking the Plane Podcast- Dissecting the NFC North Race

The NFL regular season kicked off last night, but we won’t see each team in action until the start of next week, which leaves time for division previews. On the September 9 Breaking the Plane Podcast, Matt Williamson (@WilliamsonNFL) and Jon Ledyard (@LedyardNFLDraft) preview the NFC North, which should be one of the better divisions in football with a possible Super Bowl favorite in the Green Bay Packers. While there are some questions for each team with o-line and injuries to important players it would be a surprise to see any of these teams picking in the top five of next years draft. Other topics include:

  • Discussing the Bears’ moves to shore up the o-line (2:16)
  • The Bears’ offensive weapons after getting rid of Forte and Bennett (6:48)
  • The Bears’ defense and whether they made enough changes this offseason (10:30)
  • Is anyone going to step up in the poor Bears’ secondary (12:17)
  • How the Lions flooded the o-line with draft picks (16:50)
  • Do the Lions have a star at each level of the defense (22:10)
